About
Lucas Haratsaris is a saxophonist, composer and educator from the Longmont, Colorado area. He performs and teaches actively in both the DFW and Denver areas.
Lucas currently studies at the University of North Texas under the tutelage of Brad Leali. He is the current lead tenor for the Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band. During his time at UNT he has had the opportunity to be a member of the Latin Jazz, Two O’Clock, and Three O’Clock Lab Bands. Previous accolades include performing with the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts Messengers for the 2022-23 year, and selection for Colorado Jazz All-State 2023.
Lucas is the bandleader, primary composer, and saxophonist for the rock-fusion group Many Worlds. Combining his love of a multitude of different musical traditions with the electrified saxophone, the group creates a unique soundscape and experience. In addition to his own projects, Lucas is an in demand sideman performing with groups in the DFW.
An expressive soloist, composer, and arranger, Lucas Haratsaris seeks to live a life of sustainable artistry that supports the communities around him. In support of that mission Lucas is additionally pursuing a degree in Nonprofit Leadership from UNT. He is a current student board member for the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts, and works with United Way of Denton County.
Lucas is thankful for the opportunity to work with many incredible musicians including Alan Baylock, Rodney Booth, José Aponte, Benny Green, Quincy Davis, Philip Dizack, Rich DeRosa, Brad Leali, Dave Meder, Greg Parnell, Rob Parten, Paul Romaine, Eric Scortia, David Sanchez, Marvin Stamm, Heath Walton, and the New York Voices.
